The first question: Why do I do it?

At the heart of what I do is a sense of fairness that doesn't want to see anyone taken advantage of, which happens all too often in our industry.  That's why, alongside my work in the industry, I started making educational content to help level the playing field.

I've seen all the tricks in the book and now I'm sharing that book with you.

Sharing Knowledge to Level the Playing Field

That’s why Minerals Guy exists. It’s not ultimately about having some slick tools or a team of hard selling cold callers. Anyone could do that without trying to teach something to people. From the very start, the heart of Minerals Guy has been about giving away vast knowledge in an easy-to-digest format in order to—quite simply—provide meaningful value to mineral buyers. My core focus has always been to give crucial knowledge to the right people in order to level the playing field. My mission is to actively remove the obstructions that have made the game inherently unfair to mineral owners, especially those who are not steeped in industry knowledge but who have significant wealth tied to their holdings.

Fair Play Makes for a Better Game

In all truth, I'm a terrible salesman.  I don't have any interest in sweet talking people out of their assets to my benefit. I just can't bring myself to play the game that way. Instead I'm just myself: honest, upfront, without a drop of guile. What you see is what you get with Minerals Guy. I'm not going to hide the fact that I'm a buyer, but I want to make sure that there’s no amount of disadvantage being held over other people.

In the end, success for me is the satisfaction of knowing that an honest interaction happened and we all benefited from it in a real way.  This could be by the completion of a square deal, but if not that, then some good land stories shared and learning happened that left us all the richer for it.
